The 2nd meeting of the Transport Committee of RCBC

The 2nd meeting of the Transport Committee of the Russian-Chinese Business Council was held on April, 27 this year.

Partners and members of the RCBC took part in the Committee meeting: CG “Avesta”, PJSC “Acron”, “Euro-Asian Trade House Innovation”, LLC “REFAGROTRANS”, “Russian Railways”, “Russian Fishery Company”, PJSC “Sberbank”, LLC “Sportmaster”, PSJC “Pacific Investment Group”, Association of international automobile carriers, Moscow School of Management Skolkovo and National Research University Higher School of Economics. 

The official side had representatives from the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. 

The Chinese side was represented by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Association of Chinese Businessmen in Russia, LLC “KitayStroy” and Chinese international investment corporation “Huamin”.

The agenda of the Committee meeting included such issues as further development of Russian-Chinese cooperation of members of transport and logistics market in post-pandemic period and growing sanctions pressure of the Western countries.  

The members of the Committee focused on existing problems in transport sphere and searching solutions, members of the Committee paid attention to the further development of the transport and logistics infrastructure, decided to coordinate their work and discussed the questions of entry points work on the Russian-Chinese border, delivery of exchange goods via railways, subsidizing for sea transport and availability of containers. 

“The aim of the Committee is to provide assistance in solving transport and logistics problems in Russian-Chinese direction, as well as making field-oriented official structures aware of the existing “bottlenecks”. We regularly provide necessary addressed help. There are a few inquiries because the members of RCBC are strong and stable companies which can do business independently. Nowadays we need to use Chinese resources more actively in order to solve problem issues of the transport sector,” said Chairman of the Board LLC “REFAGROTRANS” and Chairman of the Transport Committee of RCBC Valerii Barchenko. 

“The great mutual economic interest between our countries requires high-quality development of the transport infrastructure with not only increased number of transport ties between two countries, but also improved technical level of the existing ones. The Russian-Chinese Business Council supports development of the mutually beneficial bilateral relations of international commerce participants.  The main task today is to provide assistance to companies-members of the Business Council in developing a system approach to solving logistics questions and also working with Russian and Chinese federal field-oriented structures. With sanctions of the unfriendly countries a key role belongs to the Russian-Chinese cooperation in the resource, technology and economic spheres,” said Managing Director of RCBC Evgeny Markin.
