WITH SUPPORT OF THE RCBC AT MGIMO OF THE RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF FORREIGN AFFAIRS WAS HELD THE FINAL OF THE CHINESE LANGUSGE COMPETITION AMONG SCHOOLCHILDREN
On April 7–8, 2025, with the support of the RCBS, at MGIMO of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (hereinafter referred to as MGIMO) was held the final of the Chinese Language Competition for schoolchildren.
The event was organized by the Department of Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Thai, Lao and Khmer Languages together with the Faculty of Pre-University Training. The partners were the VKN Publishing House, the Russian-Chinese Business Council, the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society and Endowment
The competition was attended by 113 schoolchildren of grades 10–11 from 19 regions of Russia (including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ulan-Ude, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk), as well as from the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China. Following the qualifying round, 33 participants were selected for the final.
On April 8, the award ceremony for the finalists of the competition took place,
in which representatives of the RCBC Office took part. Vice-Rector for Language and Pre-University Training at MGIMO Igor Sergeevich Putintsev, Head of Department Olga Aleksandrovna Maslovets and Deputy Executive Director of the RCDS Igor Georgievich Batalov presented diplomas and valuable gifts to the winners, prize winners and laureates of the competition.
The Chinese language competition for schoolchildren is held with the aim of improving the level of language training of students, developing their interest in the culture, history and modern realities of China, as well as strengthening mutual understanding between the younger generation of Russia and China. The event contributes to the formation of a personnel reserve for the implementation of joint projects in the field of trade and economic cooperation, education and cultural and humanitarian interaction, which corresponds to the strategic objectives of the Russian-Chinese partnership.
